For OnePlus (OxygenOS)

Connect your OnePlus to your Mac

OnePlus is the single most-reported brand for apps that die in the background — since OxygenOS inherited ColorOS’s battery stack. Here’s how to make Pier the exception.

The reliability promise. Your Android on your Mac, and a link that stays up. OxygenOS is High for background reliability: its deep-optimization stack freezes persistent connections within tens of minutes of screen-off unless you exempt the app. The setup below is exactly what Pier’s in-app wizard walks you through on OnePlus; doing it once is the difference between a link that comes back on its own after every drop and one that “keeps disconnecting.”

Keep Pier connected on OnePlus — the checklist

  1. Settings → Battery → Pier → “Don’t optimize” / Allow background activity.
  2. Turn off “Sleep standby optimization” / “Deep optimization” (this one is device-global, so it’s optional — but recommended if reliability matters more than a sliver of battery).
  3. Lock Pier in Recents.
  4. If your build has a startup / auto-launch manager, enable auto-launch for Pier so it can restart after a kill.

Pier detects your phone’s manufacturer and shows these exact steps — deep-linked straight to the right settings screens where OnePlus allows it — the first time you pair. This page is the pre-install version so you know what you’re in for.

Why OnePlus needs this

OxygenOS 12 and later share ColorOS’s aggressive freezing: without the exemptions above it suspends Pier’s foreground service during screen-off and the reconnect timer never fires — you open your Mac and see “disconnected.” That is the classic failure mode that killed earlier phone-on-Mac products, and the one Pier is built to beat. OnePlus also ships its own O+ Connect for Mac; Pier’s edge is that it works the same on any Android, so it keeps working when you switch brands.

Tested devices. We have not run Pier on a OnePlus handset. Two phones have been through the lab — a Samsung Galaxy A26 and an OPPO A5 Pro — and the checklist above comes from OnePlus’s own documented power-management behaviour, which is what the in-app wizard ships. Treat it as the setup guide, not a guarantee — and if Pier can’t hold a stable link on your OnePlus phone, the 30-day refund is unconditional.
