Connect your OPPO or Realme to your Mac
ColorOS is the template every other aggressive skin copied — and it’s applied hardest on OPPO and Realme. It has the longest setup of any brand, and it’s worth every tap for a link that actually holds.
The reliability promise. Your Android on your Mac, and a link that stays up. ColorOS is Critical for background reliability: Startup Manager is off by default, so ColorOS can block Pier from even being restarted after it’s killed. The setup below is exactly what Pier’s in-app wizard walks you through on OPPO & Realme; doing it once is the difference between a link that comes back on its own after every drop and one that “keeps disconnecting.”
Keep Pier connected on OPPO & Realme — the checklist
- Startup Manager → allow Pier. Off by default — this is what lets Pier start and be restarted at all.
- Battery → Pier → Allow background activity / Don’t optimize.
- Turn off “Sleep standby optimization.”
- Lock Pier in Recents.
- On some builds: App Battery Management → Pier → “Allow foreground activity.”
Pier detects your phone’s manufacturer and shows these exact steps — deep-linked straight to the right settings screens where OPPO & Realme allows it — the first time you pair. This page is the pre-install version so you know what you’re in for.
Why OPPO & Realme needs this
ColorOS freezes even foreground-service apps within minutes of screen-off unless they’re exempted across several screens, and with Startup Manager off it can stop Pier from restarting after the reaper kills it — so even automatic reconnect is blocked. It’s five taps across four screens, which is a real onboarding hazard, so Pier’s in-app wizard deep-links each one for you. Do them once and the link holds.
Tested devices. Pier’s device lab has run an OPPO A5 Pro (CPH2711) through the phone-in-Finder drive (V-07) — mounts as a volume, byte-perfect at a few MB, and clean again after a reconnect; reading a large file off that drive is a known defect we have not fixed yet, and the other capabilities are not verified on this handset. Other models in the range are not individually tested. Treat this as the setup guide, not a per-model guarantee — and if Pier can’t hold a stable link on your OPPO & Realme phone, the 30-day refund is unconditional.
